Notes from the Main Office 651-748-6700

Please help us to continue to provide a safe and secure atmosphere for your children.

Here are a few reminders:

• All Castle Visitors are to sign in at the main office and receive a green Visitor pass.

• If you drive your child to school, please drop off students between 8:30-8:40 am. Our first bell rings at 8:40 am and all students need to be in their classrooms by 8:45 am. As students arrive before the 8:40 am first bell, they will join their classmates for “Backpack Book Time”. Remember that students are tardy after 8:45 am.

• If you drive your child to school and they eat breakfast at school, be sure they are at school no later than 8:25 am – breakfast is only served from 8:25-8:40 am.

• If you need to drop off a forgotten item (lunch, school work), the secretary will contact the classroom teacher.

• Occasionally parents need to take a child out of school before the end of the day. Please send a note to your child’s teacher so your child has everything ready for dismissal. If you didn’t send a note, please contact the school office at 651-748-6700.

• If your child is going home a different way at then end of the day, please send a note to your child’s teacher (i.e. riding a different bus, being picked up in parent pick up, etc.). If you did not send a note, please call the school office by 2:45 pm at 651-748-6700.

• If you want to visit a classroom, please contact your child’s teacher in advance (via email, note, or phone call) to see if the day and time fits with the teacher’s schedule.

• If you would like to talk with a teacher, please schedule a time with the teacher that is mutually convenient, rather than asking the teacher to stop teaching to answer your quick question.

• If your child will be out of school for 2 or more days due to a vacation, a Vacation Form must be completed. Please call the main office at 651-748-6700 for a form. Please complete the form before you leave on your trip.

• Students who wish to ride their bikes to school, may do so with parent permission. A note giving permission must be sent to the main office signed by a parent.

• Each family receives a Castle Calendar/Handbook each school year. Please review the calendar/handbook often for important dates and information. Page 6 of the Calendar lists Staff and Voicemail numbers. It is also available on the web page.

• Lunchroom Volunteers are needed all year long. If you have a few hours to give, we would love to have your help. Lunch hours are 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please call the main office at 651-748-6700 for information!

• Please keep your child’s Emergency Card up to date. Updated information including cell phone and work numbers must be kept accurate in case of an emergency. Please call the main office to update your information at 651-748-6700.

• If your child will be absent, please call the Attendance Line at 651-748-6717 by 8:30 am on the day your child is absent. Failure to contact school will result in an UNEXCUSED absence.

School Messenger
School Messenger is an automated message system that allows the school district and schools to notify all parents by phone in the event of an emergency such as a school closing. Castle School also has the ability to notify parents of upcoming events and reminders. When the system is used, School Messenger will call “all contacts” in the system, this includes home and cell phone numbers. School Messenger pulls numbers from our computer system. It is very important that we have updated phone numbers so you receive this important message. Please call the school office at 651-748-6700 to update your home, work, or cell phone numbers.

Castle Backpack On-line

If there is a Late Start or Early Dismissal:
• Busses will run their regular routes
